Dear PFLAG Family,
February brought a presentation from representatives from the local chapter of Out and Equal, an organization working toward workplace equality.
Occasionally, our second Sunday meeting is preempted by the Church's schedule. This is a year that Easter falls on the second Sunday. Our April meeting will be held on the third Sunday. Future reminders will be noted in the newsletter as well.
March will bring representatives from Save Inc., an organization that provides or assists with housing for people living with HIV or AIDS. If you have an idea for a program or speaker, please contact any Board member.
I want to bring to your attention that AIDS Walk will be taking place on Saturday April 25th on the Plaza, close to the Nelson art gallery. We will begin to search for volunteers to walk the 3.5 miles as well as to stay behind and staff an informational table which we have had in the past. My thanks to out to Sandi for handling that on her own last year. I won't do that to you again! Also, Pridefest will be taking place the first Saturday in June. We will need volunteers to staff a table most of the day on Saturday and Sunday. For those of you who might be new to the organization, staffing an informational table involves talking to people who may not know what PFLAG is or who may just need someone to listen to their particular situation. We have lots of information available for the taking as well as community resources. We also will have small items to sell. I would encourage you to attend Pridefest, whether or not you work the table. There are lots of other organizations present and networking is a must. It will take place at Penn Valley Park, close to the Liberty Memorial. More information will be available closer to the time. Please contact me or any Board member for information.
I look forward to seeing all of you at the March meeting.
Thank you for all that you do within our organization and our community as a whole!
Randy
